Welcome to our lodging; we hope to help you spend your vacation pleasantly. If you do not have a car, we are at your disposal for any rental service, even for a single day! We would like to recommend some destinations very close to us. Don't   miss   a   visit   to   the   sand-only   beaches   of   Kalogria,   Gianiskari   and   Lakopetra,   while,   a   few   more kilometres away, you will find Loutra Kyllinis and Arkoudi, two favourite destinations. With   beautiful   beaches   and   an   historic   city,   the   island   of   Zakynthos   is   a   pleasant   option   for   a   tour.   The first   ship   from   Kyllini   leaves   at   08.00   (book   tickets   at   the   reception).   The   trip   takes   1   hour   and   20   minutes, so you have the whole day to tour the island since the last ship back to Kyllini leaves at 20.00. The   Achaia   Clauss   winery,   located   in   Patras.   Only   18   km.   from   Castella   on   the   New   National   Road   Patras- Athens   in   the   third   exit   of   the   by-pass   (Glafcus)   to   Patras.   There,   you   have   the   opportunity   to   learn   about the   production   and   preservation   of   wines.   In   a   beautiful   environment,   you   will   be   taken   on   a   tour   and can taste the famous Mavrodaphne, the Demestiha wine and other wines of various dates. Nafpaktos is a favourite destination from Patras. A   historic   city   dating   back   to   ancient   times,   which   has   been   the   theatre   of   great   battles,   with   the   most famous   that   of   Lepanto.   The   distance   is   around   45   minutes   from   Castella.   After   crossing   the   Rio-Antirio Bridge   (the   cost   is   13   Euros   -   do   not   forget   mention   that   you   will   return   soon   so   as   to   be   given   a   card   to avoid   paying   for   the   return)   head   towards   Itea,   a   beautiful   city   with   a   picturesque   harbour   and   a   castle on   the   hill.   Enjoy   the   view   of   the   Corinthian   Gulf   and   let   your   imagination   take   you   on   a   journey   of   the historical   moments   of   the   past.   If   you   feel   peckish,   you   can   visit   Monastiraki,   a   small   fishing   village   5   km. from Nafpaktos towards Itea. Fresh fish in a simply.... Greek environment! Kalavryta,   another   historic   city;   you   will   find   information   on   this   city   in   all   tourist   guides.   I   would   suggest that you visit it on the cog railway, a traditional train. Leaving   Castella   and   passing   the   New   Patras-Athens   National   Road,   after   nearly   30   minutes   take   the   exit towards   Diakopto.   There   you   will   find   the   train   station.   The   train   ride   to   Kalavryta   takes   around   an   hour, while information on schedules is available at the reception. The   fishing   village   Alykes,   a   very   picturesque   place   for   a   stroll,   is   5   km   from   Castella.   Walk   along   the   few streets   of   the   village   to   see   the   construction   of   fishing   vessels   by   authentic   artisans   and   the   preparing   of the   nets   for   the   next   catch   in   a   community   with   emphasis   on   family   values   that   seems   unchanged   by time! Continue walking beside the sea until you reach the tourist area of Niforaiika. If   your   stay   in   Kastela   includes   a   Saturday,   we   suggest   you   visit   the   street   market   of   Kato   Achaia,   3   km away. It   starts   at   8:00   a.m.   and   ends   around   12.30   pm.   You   will   experience   the   chaotic   yet   pleasurable   essence of Greece. The city also offers a large market. In   Patras,   do   not   forget   to   visit   the   impressive   Church   of   St.   Andrew   and   the   Port.   Don't   miss   a   walk   along the   pedestrian   walkways   of   Aghiou   Nicholaou   and   Riga   Fereou   Streets.   We   can   provide   you   with   a   map   of the city and a bus schedule or book you a taxi at the reception.
